In Christmas Day posts on X, former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama spread separate yuletide greetings alongside the same photo.
“Merry Christmas!” the 44th president, 64, wrote in a caption alongside an image of himself and his wife of 33 years. “Michelle and I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with light and joy.”
In the image, the couple smiled widely in front of a trio of lighted trees.
Michelle, 61, wore a lacy black dress and a turtleneck shrug sweater, while Barack kept things more casual with a khaki-colored bomber-style jacket over a black sweater and slacks.

“Merry Christmas! Barack and I send you our heartfelt wishes for a blessed holiday and joyful start to the new year,” the mother of two wrote when sharing the same photo on her X account.
The Obama Foundation also offered a Christmas-themed message and a sweet throwback photo of the couple.
“Merry Christmas from the Obama Foundation!” the post read. “May your Christmas be filled with unwrapping new possibilities and the warmth of time spent with your loved ones!”

Each year, the Obamas send out a Christmas message on social media — and Michelle recently told Jimmy Kimmel that they mail a surprising amount of Christmas cards.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this month, Kimmel, 58, asked Michelle how many cards the family mails every year.
"You know, we checked. It's over 100,000," she told a shocked Kimmel and his audience.
"But that incorporates friends, family, business people [and] foundation people, so it's a lot of folks that we want to thank,” Michelle added.
Last year, the Obamas and their two daughters — Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24 — marked the holiday with sentimental posts on social media in which Barack shared a family photo on Instagram, while Michelle posted an image of their family dog, Sunny.
